HM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Junior System Administrator, University of Washington

The Department of Molecular Biotechnology has an immediate opening in its
Computing and Facilities Management group for a full-time UNIX computer
system administrator. This is a SAGE Level 2/3 position. Candidates must have
a degree (B.S. or M.S.) in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent
experience), an appropriate level of UNIX system administration experience
covering Solaris, Digital UNIX or IRIX, and preferably also C language
programming experience. The successful candidate must be a demonstrated
self-starter with proven ability to work effectively in a loosely structured
team environment. Outstanding organizational and communication skills are
expected, as is a record of strong customer-focus and ability to understand
and convey technical information.

Being the "right person" is more important to this position than is
technical experience. If you are short on an item of experience, but
exceptionally strong in ability to solve problems and interact with others,
we encourage you to apply. You would need to demonstrate strong technical
learning skills.

The University offers a competitive salary and benefits package. To
apply, send a cover letter, current resume, and list of three professional
references by July 20, 1998 to:
