/* NOTICE ** NOTICE ** NOTICE **

 Please take note that this month's meeting is on the third Thursday this
 month instead of the usual second. A few noticed that the second Thursday
 was Valentine's day. While we realize everyone would have come anyway, we
 moved the meeting to the third Thursday to make us all look good with
 our significant others.

Talk Abstract:

The primary goal of the talk is to show how to replace NIS with
Kerberos and LDAP.

I'll start by talking about possible goals for such a project,
and the pros and cons of Kerberos/LDAP and alternative technologies.
I'll then give an introduction to Kerberos and LDAP, discussing available
software, an overview of how they work, supported platforms, security
models, etc.

The second half of the talk then dives into the details of building
a secure, stable and scalable implementation.
