Need some help with AFS (or some other shared filesystem)

OK, who wants to step up to the plate and help design, document and set up a 
fully functioning set of systems using it???

I'll be darned if I can find a "cook book" recipe for doing this. All the 
papers, documents etc boil down to:
Step 1) Figure it out.
Step 2) Just do it.

BTW, if you know of a cook book or paper on how to please send me the URL.
