The next Seattle SAGE meeting is Thursday, July 11th, 2002
at 7pm.

The UW Rosen/McWilliam Building facility is a secured building. So a
SAGE member will be at the Republican Street entrance until 7:15 P.M. to
open the door for meeting attendees. After that a phone number will be
posted on the door for the SAGE meeting specifically. There is an
"internal extensions only phone" at the Republican Street entrance to
allow you to call building extensions. The posted phone number will be
monitored until at least 7:45 P.M. However, please make every effort to
arrive by 7 P.M.

Talk Abstract:

Mac OS X is a modern operating system that combines the power and
stability of UNIX-based operating systems with the simplicity and
elegance of the Macintosh. Come see OS X under the hood, and be part
of an in-depth discussion of the new XServe and its capabilities.
The administration of networked MacOS X machines with directory
services is to be covered and there will be OSX machines there for
you to break^Wwork with hands. There will also be door prizes and CDs
of MacOS X development software.

Short Bio:

Beau Hunter has been a technician for The Computer Store in Seattle
for the past three years and was one of the first 30 service
engineers in the Country to earn Apples OSX Certification (ACTC).
In addition, beau has been chosen as a Select Level Developer for
Apple. Beau’s experience includes several years’ of setting up and
administrating NT, OS X, Novell, Linux, Unix, and Windows 2000
servers. He has supported both Mac and Windows environments and is
proficient with Unix. He can program in C, C++, Visual Basic, Shell
Scripting, Apple Scripting and HTML and has some familiarity with
Java.

This is FREE and open to the public and a wonderful opportunity.

The Seattle SAGE Group (SSG) is a local group for systems & network
administrators in the Seattle and Pacific northwest areas (North
Western Washington). We are a local chapter of SAGE, but SAGE / USENIX
membership is not a requirement.  We sponsor a regular monthly meeting
open to the public on the second Thursday if each month at 7 p.m.
