"A small group of staff members requested the installation of an
Exchange Implementation in order to improve productivity and mobile
computing. The current Email and Calendar infrastructure is a
unix-based implementation running SENDMAIL/UW-IMAP and SunOne
Calendar. Our goal was to design the Exchange implementation to
handle email messages identically to our other email servers. This
design would allow us to keep our management costs low and to utilize
our existing email processing and logging tools. This talk will
discuss the implications of our design goals in the Exchange rollout
and how they affected both administration of the servers and end-user

Short Bio:

Brian is currently a Senior System Engineer at Cray, Inc. in Seattle.
Like an inordinate number of people in the Seattle SAGE Group, he is
only 1 or 2 degrees of separation away from MBT at the UW. (In his case,
only 1, as he had worked for there for a short time).

This is FREE and open to the public and a wonderful opportunity.

The Seattle SAGE Group (SSG) is a local group for systems & network
administrators in the Seattle and Pacific northwest areas (North
Western Washington). We are a local chapter of SAGE, but SAGE / USENIX
membership is not a requirement. We sponsor a regular monthly meeting
open to the public on the second Thursday if each month at 7 p.m.
