Position Summary:


You will work extensively with our R&D organization to build best of breed
systems to support Adobe's product development efforts. You will be
responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and escalated
support of Unix-based enterprise data center systems, including large-scale
file and print servers and engineering application servers supporting
Windows, Macintosh, and Unix workstations. You will also help establish a
worldwide program to enhance support for Solaris, Linux, AIX, and HP/UX
operating systems used by our engineering and testing organizations.
Delivering great customer service to a highly technical software development
community is a key element of this position and you will apply your proven
experience in adapting existing services and implementing new services to
respond to their evolving needs. Maintain thorough documentation of system
configuration and procedural methods for the handoff of operational duties
to front-line support staff. Strong team, department, and user communication
skills will be integral aspects of success in this position. You will also
help drive system and service standardization and consistency across our
multinational corporation.


Knowledge & Skills:


Demonstrated success with technical and project leadership of the deployment
and supportability of Unix and Linux enterprise systems is essential. Server
systems administration experience with Solaris and Linux is your primary
strength, and platform expertise with Windows and OS X is also important -
in depth experience running the server versions of Windows and OS X is
ideal. Professional experience supporting or working on a release
engineering team supporting large software development efforts will make you
an excellent candidate for this position. Experience with the implementation
of process and results measurements for the purpose of continuous
operational improvement and SLA creation and adherence is useful. Strong
familiarity with core infrastructure services, such as LDAP, NIS, and DNS is
a must, and familiarity with Active Directory is helpful. Scripting
knowledge with Perl and prevalent shells is wanted. Hands-on experience with
Sun SPARC hardware is essential, and broad exposure to data center-class
server hardware, such as HP Proliant, is strongly desired. Previous success
working in a high-tech organization will have provided you with the skills
necessary to maintain agility and to make great decisions under pressure in
our fast-paced environment. You should be able to demonstrate experience
creating and troubleshooting enterprise services that necessitated the
understanding of the complex interaction between applications, server
operating systems, network protocols, and client configurations as well as a
keen understanding of the data security issues surrounding such an
