And strangely enough, I'll be the one interviewing you.
I can tell anyone interested a bit more about the company and the
position: We're an ASP that hosts a java web app for financial
institutions. We were recently listed as one of the 50 fastest growing
companies in the Northwest, and the Operations group is no exception.
We're in the midst of a large project to reduce the footprint of
Windows servers in our hosting environments from about 95% when I
started a year ago to 10% or less by the middle of 2007 (I'd say we're
about a third of the way there), replacing them with RHEL 4 AS.
What we're looking for is someone who may be relatively new to the
field (or is stuck as a one-man shop) but is hungry to learn about all
aspects of System Administration and would like an opportunity to work
under more senior admins in a fast-paced but fun team. While the list
of must-haves below is deceptively long (we really need to talk to the
recruiter about revising this description), at the core we need
troubleshooters who aren't afraid to think outside, inside, on top of,
underneath, or next to the box.
Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about this position,
but to be fair please go through the recruiter Jeff mentioned, as the
referral belongs to the 2 of them.
