Interested in an international posting without all that hassle of learning
new languages and cultures?
Tired of working for smarmy yuppies over in Redmond?
Want to be working on a project that is MUCH more fun than anything you
are doing right now?
Cool! Space Chimps Productions, Ltd. is hiring for a Systems
Administrator in fantabulous Vancouver, BC!
What we are:
We are a film production company that has been created to make an animated
motion picture, scheduled for release in Summer of 2008. We have an
office of approximately 150 artists, animatiors, and other assorted
talents from 15 countries (and counting!) who have been gathered to make
this happen. We have a team of four systems admins, and would like to add
a fifth. We're pretty much like any other admin team you've worked on,
except that we generally like our users, have a lot of fun with our jobs,
and get to play with really cool toys.
What we want from you:
Our primary operating environment is FC4 (soon to migrate to FC5), so a
strong Linux background is a must.
Familiarity with distributed processing environments.
Extreme Networks XOS experience.
Linux expertise through Fedora Core 5.
Experience with at least two other versions of UN*X.
Experience with SAN/NAS technology.
Familiarity with configuration management systems (e.g. HP Openview,
cfengine, or other).
Must be somewhat personable. While the core function of this position is
maintenance of the server, some desktop support may be necessary.
Experience with Maya, Shake, RenderMan, are helpful. If you have render
experience, this position can be combined with a Render Wrangler position.
Film production experience preferred.
Our office has easy access to the Skytrain.
