Fwiw under Postfix it's simple enough to do what you want.
In /etc/postfix/main.cf:

In /etc/postfix/main.cf with a line like:

recipient_delimiter = -

all email resembling

somebodys at someplace.com
somebodys-self at someplace.com
somebodys-aunt at someplace.com
somebodys-uncle at someplace.com
somebodys-sister at someplace.com
...

goes to "somebodys" mailbox.

I expect it's quite as trivial in Sendmail.  Of course it probably
requires the mail be sorted by a server dedicated to the domain.
I don't think Postfix supports multiple recipient-delimiters in
one instance of Postfix.
