Talk Abstract

There have been a lot of new ideas, methodologies, loud evangelizing
and hundreds of books on project management all directed at what makes
a successful project. Software development, application installation,
new network installations, server upgrades and little tool creations
are all projects. In fact anything that requires more then a few
minutes of your time can be considered a project. So what can be done
to improve the quality of your projects, the satisfaction you have on
completing a project, the happiness of your clients on delivery and to
improve the maintainability of your projects? Over the last few years
some new best practices have emerged and these can be applied to
almost any project.

This talk will discuss project success theories, best practices for
project management and some best practices for improving
effectiveness, quality and maintainability of IT projects.

There will be some some jokes, some videos, some science and even a
few magic spells for when all else fails.
