John,

First I'm going to recommend a fantastic book on usability: "Don't
Make Me Think," by Steve Krug. Easy, fast read but packed with great
info.

The book also references Jakob Nielsen's website numerous times. It's
packed with gems, and Nielsen has a bi-weekly newsletter with great
usability stuff. Check out this article:

Turns out there are a couple classes coming up: Krug's usability
class, and Lou Rosenfeld's Information Architecture (buy the bundle -
Oct 25 & 26 in Seattle). Rosenfeld wrote the Information Architecture
book from O'Reilly.

Rosenfeld: http://louisrosenfeld.com/presentations/seminars/eia/

Cheers,
Dave
