First time posting and it's in need of fulfilling a position we have 
open here at our Lynnwood, WA facility for a SysAdmin Level II. I'm the 
hiring manager who got thrust into this role and now I need someone to 
fill my old position. I have an immediate need so if you are truly

Responsibilities
1. Manage the LINUX/Windows/Solaris Systems, Storage, backup and other 
daily tasks.
2. Lead the technical architecture and project planning for design 
servers including: server consolidation, storage-area networks, 
security, and messaging,
3. Work with cross-department teams doing: infrastructure projects, 
worldwide IT initiatives, and complex vendor product rollouts
4. Develop and control policies and procedures for: upgrades and 
changes, performance monitoring and tuning, event management, capacity 
management, and SLAs
5. Track technologies, best practices, and vendor offerings for UNIX, 
LINUX and WINDOWS.
6. Manage and control maintenance contracts and licenses with key 
vendors including: IBM, APC, Network Appliance, and EMC.
7. Coordinate after-hours systems support with Cypress NOC in Asia.
8. Administer company procedures and periodic reporting
9. Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Design center
The system administrator, design Systems group will work closely with 
the other administrators at various locations.

Job Specific Requirements:*
Demonstrated technical, and administrative skills are required in this 
challenging and demanding position. Must be able to communicate and work 
well with people from many areas and organizational levels. Must be 
strong in technical background and experience in computer operations 
fundamentals as applied to Linux systems.
1. Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field is preferred 
but not required.
2. 3-5 years in Unix computer operations is required
3. Install, configure and support Windows, Solaris and Linux OS and 
respective hardware
4. Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, is 
required
5. Experience with SMTP, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, AD, NIS is required
6. Experience with printers, plotter, network devices (router, VPN, 
switches) required
7. Experience with scripting in Perl, C shell, and Tenex C shell is desired
8. Experience with EMC and Network Appliance is desired
9. Experience with Legato/Veritas backup software is desired
10. Experience with Veritas file/volume/cluster products is desired
11. Experience with security assessment and initiatives is desired

Cypress Semiconductor is a leading designer and manufacturer of 
high-performance integrated circuits for network infrastructure and 
access equipment. The system administration group, UNIX Systems manages 
design center computer systems for Cypress internal users. The design 
center systems include: Linux compute and desktop systems, Windows 
desktop systems as well as infrastructure for email, file serving, print 
serving, NIS/DNS. The design UNIX Systems group is responsible for 
planning, selecting, building, configuring, monitoring, maintaining and 
operating the Linux production systems in the nineteen-design data 
centers. The group is also responsible for setting and following 
worldwide policies, procedures, and best practices for messaging, name 
service, security, and systems management.
