[SASAG] Data comms class suggestions?

I'm looking for a data comms class (corporate 3-5 day training) in the
Seattle area. It should cover serial (RS 232, etc) and not focus on
ethernet, so N+ is not what I'm looking for. No one talks about stop
bits and parity anymore. These classes were common about 15 years ago
in the era of dial up and X.25, but I'm challenged to find one now.
Global Knowledge and Netdesk don't have anything like this. I need to
get some folks trained in serial devices, as that's how many of our
science sensors come in.
Ideas?
Barring classes, any online tutorials you can recommend are welcome.
Thanks,
Dave
