What are your organization's requirements, legal/regulatory and
organizational, for email retention?

Is local storage of excess email cheaper than server storage?

We use Exchange, in a predominantly Windows environment, and have an
archiving solution that we're slowly implementing. Eventually, we'll
suck up all of the users PST files into that, then turn off their
ability to use PST files, and start deleting mail older than our
retention policy - which is as yet undetermined, but under discussion.
