Hey Eric,

My company uses DPM 2007, but we're planning to move to DPM 2010. When DPM works, it's great, and it's easy to learn and use. It does the backup at a block level, which is good and bad. The backup of Virtual Server and HyperV VMs are easy, and the restore is great, but it's a pain if you have snapshots applied.

Has anyone used Microsoft's System Center Data Protection Manager 2007?  We are primarily a WIndows shop and have had a number of recommendations for Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 8.5 Server Edition.  We aren't a large IT dept and have a very limited budget so picking the best tool for backup and recovery is critical.  Any opinions or comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
